Dear HRFN members,
We are excited to share with you the next steps in HRFN’s leadership transition! You have likely heard that after 10 years of leadership – building a more diverse membership, exploring new models of grantmaking, pioneering research of global funding trends, and amplifying the leadership of Global South and East donors – Mona Chun departed as Executive Director in June. We hope you have also heard about the arrival of Catherine Hyde Townsend, Transition Director, who is leading the network through this critical interim phase.
The Steering Committee is incredibly excited about this next phase and future of HRFN, and committed to identifying an Executive Director who will bring bold and impactful leadership as HRFN advances effective human rights philanthropy in these troubling times. We look forward to engaging our membership and hearing your insights to inform the recruitment.
To that end, we are working with the Nonprofit Professionals Advisory Group (NPAG) to conduct a thorough search process over the course of the next 6 months. The dedicated search team at NPAG includes: Tamar Datan, Senior Advisor; Hallie Deitsch, Senior Associate; and Yuniya Kahn, Research Associate. NPAG offers a customized process with a strong commitment to diversity, equity, inclusion, and consultative stakeholder engagement. They have already begun working closely with the Steering Committee and staff, and will launch the public search in several weeks.
Before that, however, we need your help and input! Please complete this survey by FRIDAY, SEPTEMBER 20th (which should take no more than 8 minutes) and let us know the most important considerations as we recruit our new Executive Director. HRFN’s membership is at the heart of all we do and we appreciate your time and energy to inform this search.
If you have any questions about the recruitment process, please contact Hallie.
If you have any questions or suggestions about the HRFN transition process, please contact Catherine.
