Sponsored by IHRFG’s Environmental Justice, Climate Change, and Human Rights Working Group
From November 7-18, 2016, one hundred and ninety-five nations came together for the twenty-second session of the Conference of the Parties (COP 22) in Marrakech, Morocco to reaffirm their commitment to the Paris Agreement, which was adopted at 2015’s COP 21 to combat climate change.
Climate finance remains central to achieving the Paris Agreement, which set an ambitious target of raising $100 billion per year by 2020 to support mitigation and adaptation activities. One such activity is The Green Climate Fund, which was established with the aim of facilitating the flow of finance from public and private sources to various types of climate projects.
This webinar will provide participants with the key takeaways for human rights funders from COP22, information about The Green Climate Fund and how to engage, and strategies to coordinate with peer funders on issues related to climate justice.
