HRFN’s Advancing Human Rights initiative is the first-ever analysis of the evolving state of global human rights philanthropy. In partnership with Foundation Center, we map the field to help funders and advocates alike identify gaps and trends and make more informed decisions in their work.
The research has produced several tools to date:
- Foundation Maps: Human Rights: explore the who, what, and where of human rights philanthropy. With data updated weekly, our funder-only map lets you view grant-level details, map your funding, find new partners, and search at the intersection of multiple areas
- Advancing Human Rights Research Hub: this resource illustrates human rights funding by region, issue, population, and strategy, as well as the intersections and trends among them. Learn more about the Advancing Human Rights initiative, see top funder lists, and explore your area of interest
- Advancing Human Rights: Key Findings: our annual analyses explore top funders and regional, issue, population, and strategy breakdowns in human rights philanthropy, as well as data on bilateral and multilateral funding
This initiative is a collaborative effort between HRFN and Foundation Center, along with our partners Ariadne – European Funders for Social Change and Human Rights and Prospera – International Network of Women’s Funds.
