HRFN’s Advancing Human Rights research is the first-ever analysis of the evolving state of global human rights philanthropy. This initiative is a collaboration between HRFN and Candid, in partnership with Ariadne and Prospera, to map the field by collecting and analyzing grants data. The goal is to help human rights funders and advocates make more informed decisions, discover opportunities for collaboration, and work more effectively.
We produce these tools to make the findings accessible:
- Foundation Maps: Human Rights: explore the who, what, and where of human rights philanthropy using this database and mapping platform. With data updated weekly, our funder-only map lets you view grant-level details, find new partners, and search at the intersection of the issues you work on.
- Advancing Human Rights Research Hub: this interactive resource presents human rights funding by region, issue, population, and funding strategy, along with their intersections and trends.
- Advancing Human Rights Reports: our key findings reports provide annual analyses of the state of global human rights funding, while our trends reports offer a look at human rights funding across multiple years from a subset of funders.
