The Nyeleni Global Forum
For the past two decades, the Nyeleni Process has convened social movements and allies to advance food sovereignty and climate justice worldwide. Started at the 2007 International Forum on Food Sovereignty in Mali, the Nyeleni Process has articulated strategies to expand the organizing capacity of peasants, women, and Indigenous people to advocate for global policies to protect local communities’ rights to land, water, seeds, and food.
On Tuesday, December 17th at 11 AM Eastern Time, the Nyeleni Funder Circle invites you to the upcoming webinar, “The Nyeleni Global Forum: A presentation to funders and donors”, where we will hear from global movement representatives regarding the upcoming gathering of 500 organizers and allies in Bengaluru, India.
This webinar, will feature:
- Taina Hedman of of the Kuna nation in Panamá and the International Indian Treaty Council (IITC)
- Chukki Nanjundaswamy from Karnataka Rajya Raitha Sangha (KRRS) in India and La Via Campesina;
- Ali Aii Shatu, pastoralist from Cameroon who belongs to the Indigenous Peoples from Africa Coordination Committee (IPACC), an organization affiliated to the World Alliance of Mobile Indigenous People and IITC.

The Nyeleni Funder Circle is a space for funders and donors to build alignment within the larger Nyeleni Process. Our goal is to build a pathway with the aim of strengthening relationships between social movements and philanthropic actors aligned funders to leverage resources and strategizing around how funders and donors can better support global movements for food sovereignty and agroecology.
