At HRFN, we are committed to building inclusive, accessible, and vibrant spaces. We recognize that access is not equal and are here to support all LGBTQI people, people with disabilities, and participants from every region of the world.
We are working closely with our advisors and local partners to support visa access, community security, and accessibility. Our community is stronger for its diversity.
HRFN’s Funding Futures Festival strives to center accessibility.
The registration form gathers accessibility details to support participation, including language, disability, and other needs such as dietary restrictions and childcare.
The Indaba Hotel, Spa & Conference Centre and the City Lodge Hotel Fourways have wheelchair access, and we will ensure the spaces are accessible for all abilities.
Applications for the Call for Proposals can be submitted in English, French, Portuguese, or Spanish. You will have the opportunity to identify session lead/speaker language(s) in your proposals for Action Labs and Lightning Talks.
Simultaneous interpretation for English, French, and Spanish, as well as closed captioning in English will be available for all plenaries and provided to support full participation throughout the Festival. Simultaneous interpretation into other languages available based on demand, please contact our team at conference@hrfn.org to make a request.
HRFN is dedicated to the full and secure participation of our LGBTQI community members. We work with venue staff, security teams, and all Festival team members and consultants to build a space in which gender diversity and community safety are centered. We recognize that visa access to South Africa can create barriers and extra costs to participation. We are committed to supporting global participation. During registration, you will have the option to select visa support from HRFN’s team. See the FAQs for more details.
Childcare will be available from Monday evening to Friday afternoon upon request. Please indicate your childcare needs when you register.
HRFN is committed to maintaining the health and safety of everyone to the fullest extent possible. We recognize this takes shared accountability. We strongly encourage all attendees to take a rapid COVID-19 test prior to traveling. Please do not attend if you are sick with a flu, RSV, or COVID-19, and contact our team if you become ill during the Festival.
