Black Feminist Politics Series – The Caribbean at the Crossroads

The webinar will highlight the analyses and responses offered by Afro-Caribbean feminists who exist at the crossroads and in the margins, centering their wisdom and contributions to liberatory struggles. Black feminists often use the metaphor of the crossroads to illustrate our complex positions at the intersection of multiple forms of oppression, where the knowledge and political practices forged by those who stand at the crossroads contain insurgent possibilities. The third episode of the Black Feminist Fund’s Black Feminist Politics Series reflects on the Caribbean at the crossroads. Dialogue with the work of Afro-Caribbean feminists provokes us to ask: How do Black feminist movements in the Caribbean analyze and respond to the interconnected challenges affecting the region? What Black feminist strategies, knowledge, and politics emerge from the praxis carried out by these movements?
