The climate crisis is a racial and gender justice crisis!
Extreme weather events disproportionately affect communities that have been historically, systematically disenfranchised and pushed to the margins of society. And for those who are rendered invisible in everyday life, the impacts of climate change worsen these existing inequalities.
For the fourth episode of the Black Feminist Politics Series, “Climate Justice Through A Black Feminist Lens”, we will think through:
How Black feminist movements address, respond to, and prepare for climate change
What unique strategies Black feminisms use to resist climate injustice and build a just future
What more would be possible if their work were properly resourced
