A daylong summit hosted by HRFN
Co-Sponsored by Luminate and Foundation for a Just Society
Join us to unlock new possibilities for philanthropic action at the intersections of technology, climate, and human rights!
HRFN’s Open Summit on 23 September is designed to spark inspiration, connection, and action through a day-long exchange between funders working across critical issues such as climate justice, democracy, digital rights and technology, and closing civic space. The event is open to HRFN members and peer funders.
THE INTERSECTION OF CRISES AND OPPORTUNITY
We are facing an unprecedented array of interconnected crises, from armed conflicts to the erosion of democracy and civic space. Growing authoritarianism, billionaire and Big Tech influence, misinformation campaigns, and the rise of AI technologies have accelerated the climate crisis, creating an urgent need for collaborative, cross-sector solutions. In a landscape marked by seismic shifts, we have the opportunity to proactively build a stronger, more responsive funding ecosystem that supports communities to meet the moment, now and long-term.
The Open Summit will bring together a diverse group of funders working at the intersections of technology, climate, and human rights to forge justice-oriented pathways forward.
INSPIRING COLLABORATION, DEEPENING ALIGNMENT
Together, we will craft just, forward-thinking narratives and practices in funding for crisis, tech, and climate. Our aim is to:
- Spark strategic conversations within and across institutions.
- Invest in intersectional resourcing for communities.
- Take bold action to shift power and resources to where they are most needed.
FROM ANALYSIS TO ACTION
At this crucial juncture, philanthropy is being called upon to support movements in meaningful ways. We will find common ground across geographies, portfolios, and issues, recognizing that we are all vital in shaping a philanthropic ecosystem that centers human rights, justice, and equity. Join us!
