Alianza Socioambiental Fondos del Sur | Socio-environmental Funds of the Global South

Voices of the South is a compendium of stories, insights, and community-led solutions from community-based movements, featuring 8 articles, 5 case studies, and 2 interviews produced by Alianza’s member funds. Through this publication, Alianza aims to show the global philanthropic community the power of local activist funds, whose strength comes from their community ties, trust-based relationships, and practices that effectively respond to the territories’ needs. The publication covers a wide range of themes and highlights the transformative efforts of supported groups – Indigenous peoples, women, youth, and rural, urban, and forest communities – to preserve and restore nature, address climate change-related challenges and create local solutions to social and environmental threats. Additionally, the publication highlights Alianza’s key achievements in 2024, including the addition of three new member funds, the strengthening of internal governance and collective processes, and participation in strategic global forums, bringing the voices of Global South communities to decision-making spaces.
