BRICS Rural Sustainble Development Pople to people Exchange Forum

Events

Background
On 09 September 2021, Brazil, Russia, India, China and South Africa held the XIII BRICS Summit under the theme ‘BRICS @ 15: Intra-BRICS Cooperation for Continuity, Consolidation and Consensus’ in India. In the New Delhi Declaration #39, it stated that – “Recognizing the importance of agriculture and rural revitalization for achieving the 2030 Agenda, we reiterate our commitment to enhancing intra-BRICS agricultural cooperation for food security and promotion of comprehensive development of rural areas…”.

Chinese civil society organizations have been committed to rural revitalization and sustainable development for many years and have a lot of experience in rural energy transformation and environmental protection. It is essential to communicate with social organizations from BRICS partner countries and understand the demand for the purpose of achieving 2030 Agenda together.

As China has BRICS Chairship in 2022 and will be holding XIV BRICS Summit, this forum will be listed as one of the series events of the Summit.
